HOW SOLAR WORKS
Sunlight streams down onto solar panels with photons (which are particles of sunlight). The solar panels convert those photons into electrons of electricity using photovoltaic cell technology. The amount of electricity generated depends on the intensity of the sun, but even on cloudy days your solar panels will still absorb sunlight and generate energy!
Once the energy is transferred from the sun, it flows from the solar panels to an inverter that converts the raw energy into ready-to-use-electricity for your home.
SEE HOW SOLAR WORKS
1 Photovoltaic (PV) cells convert sunlight to direct current (DC) energy
2 The inverter converts DC energy into alternating current (AC) electricity
3 Electrical panels send electricity to your home to serve your electric demand
4 The utility meter measures the electricity you send to and/or receive from the utility grid is sent to the grid. Night time demand for electricity is served 100% by the local electric utility from the electric grid.
TRADITIONAL SOLAR SYSTEM
60% off the grid
The traditional solar PV system is currently the most common solar system in use. This type of system is connected to the electric grid and does not have any battery storage. The demand for electricity during the day is served by the power generated from the solar system during the daylight hours. Any excess electricity generated by solar power is sent to the grid. Night time demand for electricity is served 100% by the local electric utility from the electric grid.
GOT A TRADITIONAL SOLAR SYSTEM INSTALLED? UPGRADE TO THE HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM AND SAVE!
If you already have an existing solar system, you can upgrade to a Hybrid System by adding the battery storage to your solar.
It will set you 99% off the grid. Each battery size is configured for appropriate sized solar system.

We could not be more satisfied with our choice to have SunFusion Solar design, plan and install solar on our rooftop. The install team was fun to have around and completed the work very timely and efficiently. Our neighbors barely knew we had a crew working on the house. Very professional all the way around!
After reading SDG&E plan to hike up rates this fall as much as 30% I sent off an email to Walter at SunFusion. We had a recommendation from a coworker. So glad we made the call. Their quote was much less than others, but with quality components. Also no hassle. Once the contract was signed the plans were approved in a couple of weeks and the install for a 4.5 KW system took 1.5 days! With a nothing down loan we will be saving money right from the start. 25 year savings should be around $70,000.
I have been a customer since January 2010. SunFusion Solar has made solar energy affordable to many many people and I’ll always be grateful for that. Now, I have made my solar school in Mexico thanks to their products, my home is solar and I can make a living with solar energy. Keep going, make the whole world solar!
